Emergency Management (EMA)
Duties of the Emergency Management Director include but are not limited to: Supervising, coordinating, and maintaining the daily operations of the local Emergency Management Agency (EMA).
The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency works with other government agencies to teach preparedness, lessen the effects of a hazard, and strengthen response and recovery efforts. GEMHSA also supports homeland security initiatives that protect state residents’ lives and properties and reduce, or entirely prevent, the negative impacts of terrorism.
Berrien County EMS covers 458 square miles, with a population of over 18,000 people. We have 2 ambulances that provide emergency medical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Berrien County EMS responds to over 3000 calls a year for service.
