The Public Works department grades & repairs the county roads, maintains potholes, mowing, road name signs, builds up roads, replaces cross-drains & driveway, cleans up/clears beaver dams, cuts up & removes fallen trees, cleans trash from right of ways & just about anything else you can think of that needs to be done for the county, we do it. There are 653.73 total miles within Berrien County and approximately 200 miles of paved road within the county. The county has approximately 455 miles of unpaved road with a total of 452 square miles.
